I just posted my new book, GUTS & SOUL: Looking for Street Music and Finding Inspiration on Smashwords. It will be on iTunes and other retails soon!
This book contains photos of street musicians I met as I traveled across the country – New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New Orleans.
Street music has always inspired me and I went looking for more. I met a Chinese musician in the Boston Subway playing a jinghu, a rock guitarist on the Venice Beach Boardwalk, members of the Free Spirit Brass Band playing in Jackson Square in New Orleans, and many others.
In this book I share some of the conversations and images that I captured of the musicians that inspired me the most. I hope you’ll check it out. And it’s FREE!
I just posted a new edition of my Tokyo street photography ebook. 12 new images added for a total of 33. And it is still FREE!
“Cool book cover, great font & writing style. A delightful set of pictures of modern day Tokyo. Lots of exciting scenarios & a great set of unique characters. This could make a great PP presentation. A very easy rating of 5 stars for this short story (book).
Thank you for the free short story (book)”
“Life is but a series of moments, demonstrated nicely by this book.”
“Some new review of the biggest city in the world, that all of us who don’t live there know so little.”
Several new things are coming soon! I’m back from New Orleans and Chicago and now have all the footage for the street musician doc. So I’ve been working hard for two weeks cranking out some new stuff. It was great to have the time to get some work done!
Work of Art: The Craft of Creativity as I Know It is the new edition and title of my book on creative process. It’s still FREE and it’s available now on Smashwords. Give it about 4 or 5 days to reach the other online retailers.
I’m excited because this new title really reflects the original intent of this book. It’s about the methods, systems, and processes that allow us to turn great ideas into something tangible, real-world, and awesome.
This book shares the concepts that I’ve used as a college teacher to help my students discover their own ideas and to do the work necessary to make those ideas happen.
The ideas in this book have been tested and used by hundreds of students over more than two decades. It is based on the methods and systems that my students and I have used to create operas, documentaries, solo and ensemble concerts, experimental intermedia productions, albums, and symphonic works.
This book is full of really practical suggestions to help anyone be more effective at the craft of creativity!
